Grand County Fishing Company offers several options for guided fly fishing. Grand County is very unique being that you can fish everything from dries on small mountain creeks to stripping streamers off a raft/drift boat in search of big browns and rainbows. Grand County Fishing Company offers both walk/wade and float trips on various rivers in Grand County. Most of our float trips take place on the famed Colorado River, however, we also offer float trips on the Grey Reef section of the North Platte River. Our walk/wade trips take place on the Colorado, the Fraser River, Ranch Creek, Muddy Creek and the Williams Fork river. All of these sections of water have public access but we are lucky enough to guide on some of the private sections. We have multiple private sections on the Colorado, Fraser and Ranch Creek. If getting away from the crowds and enjoying the tranquility of having miles of water to yourself is something you desire, we have many private water options that are sure to meet your demands.

Public Water vs. Private Water
In Grand County there is an abundance of public river access that offers some of the best fishing in the state. Some of the more popular stretches can become crowded in the summer months, but if you to know where to go there is solitude to be found even in July. Lucky for you, our guides have found and regularly fish these sections. Check our rates below for guided public walk/wade trips.
Grand County Fishing Company has multiple opportunities for private water guide trips. Our private water sections see little pressure and you should experience the solitude that most desire while fly fishing. The Fraser River is a hidden gem that offers limited public access. Because of the limited public access we only guide on our private sections. Our private sections on the Fraser boast a healthy number of Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout that average 14-16 inches, but our guests regularly land trout over 20 inches. Check out our rates below for private water walk/wade trips.
Colorado River, Fraser River & Other Public Water Wade Fishing Trips
The Colorado River has some of the best public water in the state with miles of wade-able water and incredible hatches that include Salmon flies, Caddis, Blue Winged Olives, PMD’s, Tricos, Midges, Golden Stones, March Browns and one stretch where we have been seeing a two week hatch of Grey Drakes. The Fraser River has various public stretches, including right behind the fly shop.
